The unique ceramic World Full of Masks ball is handmade from a round black clay template. The shapes of the masks are sculpted on the surface and the spaces in between are hand-painted with different colours in a fantasy pattern. It measures 30 cm in diameter and has an opening at the top where a wire can be placed on which the sphere can hang.<\/p>\n

The unique ceramic sphere World Full of Masks was an exhibit at the Masks exhibition at the City Gallery in Krapina, Croatia, which took place from 15 February to 15 March 2019 and featured a number of artists from Croatia and Slovenia. The Masks exhibition takes place every year during Carnival, the festival of masks. This was the second participation of Polona Zajc in the Pottery Art Design exhibition.<\/p>\n
Products that can be called clay art products, and on these pages are clay art products, show another aspect of clay design. They are inspired by the artist, sometimes on a theme announced by the exhibition organiser, or the theme is free, so the artist is free to express himself. Usually artists use different techniques of clay moulding, including different types of clay and colours. Of course, we always follow our own idea. And so we create ceramics inspired by the inspiration with which we tell our stories as artists. This is how the World Full of Masks sphere came about. The sphere symbolises the world - the Earth - and the masks on it are people who, in order to survive, have to adapt to the outside world and put on different faces - masks. The mask ball is a piece of ceramics which, with its symbolic meaning and interesting shape, attracts the attention of the observer. It could be placed in many environments.<\/p>\n
