The pop-up ceramics exhibition was entitled 30 Years Later. It was initiated by Tatjana Hlačer, who also organized and hosted the event at the Koren homestead in Perovo near Kamnik, where she lives. On display was a selection of clay products designed by Polona Zajc. The selection was made by Tatjana Legat Lokar, who also designed the exhibition. Visitors were able to view it every afternoon from October 21 to November 4, 2025. The event was dedicated to a very special anniversary. This year marks 30 years since the founding of the company, within which potter and ceramist Polona creates a wide variety of clay products.
Opening of the exhibition 30 years later
The opening of the exhibition 30 years later took place on a cold, rainy Tuesday. However, this did not bother us visitors too much. The opening began with a welcome speech by Tatjana Hlačer and continued with a brief summary of Polona's journey. Taja Legat Lokar revealed the characteristics and secrets of Polona's work. Visitors viewed the exhibition and enjoyed some sweets and roasted chestnuts. We warmed up the cold evening with tea and mulled wine. Visitors were also able to admire the permanent exhibition of bowls and pots that adorn the Koren homestead in Perovo.
Delavnica Ustvarjanje na lončarskem vretenu s Polono Zajc
The workshop "Creating on the potter's wheel with Polona Zajc" was an event that took place alongside an exhibition of her ceramic works. We met on Tuesday, October 28, at the Ila creative workshop in Perovo near Kamnik. Both children and adults took part in the workshop. Polona invited everyone to spin clay on a potter's wheel with her help and create their own product. Spinning clay was a very special experience for everyone. Meanwhile, Tatjana led a workshop on shaping clay in other ways. So we were all busy and created a multitude of interesting products. All of them will be fired in a kiln, and some will also be colored with different glazes.
Conversation with artist Polona Zajc
The conversation with artist Polona Zajc was an event that accompanied the closing of the exhibition 30 Years Later. The weather was beautiful, as it had been every day before. The autumn colors further enlivened the atmosphere in which the ceramic pieces had been on display for two weeks. An interview with Polona by Taja Legat Lokar was planned, but everything unfolded quite spontaneously. Quite a few visitors came, each chatting with the artist individually and thus gaining insight into her work. Along the way, we again enjoyed some pastries and warmed ourselves with tea and mulled wine. The main protagonists, Tatjana, Taja, and Polona, ensured a proper conclusion with their conversation late into the night.
