From Identity to Freedom
A group of three ceramic sculptures is entitled From Identity to Freedom.
Throughout life, we change different masks because we have to identify with countless roles in order to survive in the system in which we live.
Our identity is determined by patterns that we have formed throughout our lives. These patterns work within us and shape us into the person we are.
When we throw away our masks and unravel all the patterns, freedom emerges. We no longer exist as a person, and identity remains only as a necessity for functioning in space and time.
