Labyrinth Fever

Labyrinth Fever

“Labyrinth Fever” is a sales promotion for clay labyrinths that runs from mid-September through October 8. The promotion features clay products decorated with labyrinth symbols. The clay cups with labyrinths were made some time ago, as were various labyrinth pendants. At the beginning of summer, however, we created a brand-new series of clay products featuring labyrinths in our pottery art workshop. We featured each individual labyrinth design every week in posts on these pages. We also showcased all the new clay items featuring labyrinth symbols. At the end we finished the series with a sale. We reduced the prices of all clay labyrinths by 20%.

Pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc

Polona Zajc’s pottery art features products adorned with the labyrinth symbol. Ceramics are a more than suitable material for depicting labyrinth symbols. Since there are nine forms of labyrinths—seven of which have mirror images—it is possible to represent the basic forms of labyrinths in as many as fourteen different ways. Each also has its own distinctive color, making the design of these symbols a real creative endeavor. These labyrinths—symbols of power—thus add value to Polona Zajc’s pottery art creations.

Nine types of labyrinths

There are nine types of labyrinths, seven of which have a mirror image, while two have no center. These are the Labyrinth of Power or the Sun Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Sensations or the Moon Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Energy or the Mars Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Connection or the Mercury Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Wisdom or the Jupiter Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Love and Creativity or the Venus Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Life and Death or the Saturn Labyrinth, the Labyrinth of Transformation or Rahu’s Labyrinth, and the Labyrinth of Freedom or Ketu’s Labyrinth. These are nine patterns of power, each with its own natural shape, color, direction, and element. Ceramic items featuring labyrinths are adorned with symbols in the corresponding colors. They can be found on pendants, mugs, figurines, and plates. Of course, labyrinths exist in nature. The paths we follow through them are usually marked by stones. In the pottery art workshop, however, we make them out of clay.
