Jupiter's Labyrinth on a Plate

“Jupiter’s Labyrinth” on a plate is part of a series of labyrinths engraved into ceramic plates. The ceramic works by Pottery Art—Polona Zajc’s clay designs—also feature depictions of labyrinths of all kinds. This particular labyrinth is “The Labyrinth of Wisdom” or “Jupiter’s Labyrinth” in its natural, expressive form. The plate is handcrafted on a potter’s wheel from gray clay. The symbol of the labyrinth of knowledge is carved into it. It is fired at a temperature of 1210°C. The clay plate features various carved patterns painted with colored glazes, while the labyrinth is glazed with a light yellow glaze. The details are accented with real gold. The plate has a diameter of 31 cm. The labyrinth design gives the piece special significance, both for the person who owns it and for the environment in which it is placed.

The Labyrinth of Wisdom or Jupiter's Labyrinth

The Labyrinth of Wisdom, or Jupiter’s Labyrinth, can also be called the Labyrinth of Knowledge. The central themes of this labyrinth are learning and teaching. By moving toward the center, we will reach the one who knows. The Labyrinth of Knowledge stimulates within us a desire for knowledge or a propensity to acquire it. This is positive, since one could say that the moment people stop learning, they die in a sense. Its element is space, its color is yellow or orange, its direction is northeast, and its natural form is expressive. The usefulness of the Labyrinth of Wisdom lies in the fact that it ensures we do not stray from the path of our fundamental task—acquiring knowledge. It will be particularly beneficial to people who are in the process of acquiring knowledge, but it also works in the opposite direction; it is excellent for teachers or for all those who impart knowledge.
