The Sun Labyrinth on a Figurine is part of a series of labyrinths carved into ceramic figurines. The ceramic works by Polona Zajc’s “Pottery Art: Clay Design” collection also feature depictions of labyrinths of all kinds. This particular labyrinth is the Sun Labyrinth, or Labyrinth of Power, in its natural, expressive form. The figurine is handcrafted from black clay, with the symbol of the Labyrinth of Power carved into it. It is fired at a temperature of 1210°C. The clay figurine is glazed in various shades, while the labyrinth is glazed with a shimmering, iridescent red-orange glaze. The details are accented with real gold. The figurine is 25 cm tall. The labyrinth design gives the piece special significance, both for the person wearing it and for the surroundings in which it is placed.

Labyrinth of Power

The Labyrinth of Power is the oldest and best-known form of labyrinth. Its associated element is fire, and its colors are gold, copper, and fiery orange. Its direction is east, and its natural form is expressive. The Sun Labyrinth represents and fosters personal power. This is the power that involves the ability to realize and materialize a specific idea through a specific activity. The path to the center of the Labyrinth of Power is an inner journey toward our true self or soul. The usefulness of the Labyrinth of Power lies in its ability to act as a catalyst for inner strength, personal status, and self-confidence. It will be used by all those who lack the personal strength for certain endeavors, and it will also benefit individuals who wish to improve their status in society.
