Mercury Labyrinth pendant

Mercury Labyrinth pendant is one of the products of pottery art design Polona Zajc. The labyrinths are depicted on pendants in the collection. The pendant has a cord and a clasp. The Labyrinth of Connection or Mercury's Labyrinth is presented in a receptive form. The pendant is a cast of a plaster model of her own making, made of red clay, glazed and fired at 1040°C. Diameter 4 cm, cord length 22 or 27 cm. It is painted in the green colour of the Labyrinth of Connection. It is this shape that gives the pendant, which is essentially ceramic jewellery, a special meaning for the wearer and for the environment in which it is placed.

Labyrinth pendants are one of the Pottery art clay design series by Polona Zajc. The series depicts all forms of labyrinths, both expressive and receptive. They are made by stamping clay into a pre-made plaster model of her own making. After the impression is made, a relief print of the labyrinth is created, which is fired in a ceramic kiln after drying. The colour of the glaze to be applied depends on the characteristics of the individual labyrinth. After firing the glaze, the product is formed. This is how the Mercury Labyrinth pendant was made.

The labyrinth of connection

The Labyrinth of Connection, or Mercury's Labyrinth, has the task of connecting things and people that are seemingly disconnected. Passing through it encourages all forms of communication, from speech to writing. Better communication naturally leads to better relationships, friendship and cordiality. It could also be called the labyrinth of playfulness, indifference or even youth. It eliminates anxiety and helps to see life from a more cheerful point of view. Its receptive form, depicted here, has the priority of eliminating such vices as deceit, dishonesty, insincerity, duplicity, irresponsibility, carelessness and forgetfulness. This is why the Labyrinth of Connection is suitable for young people who are still forming and maturing. On a physical level it represents growth and development, and on a spiritual level it represents knowledge and learning, as well as the transmission of knowledge.
