Unique clay sculpture Freedom

The unique clay sculpture Freedom is a product of pottery art designed by Polona Zajc. The sculpture is made of gray clay. It is painted with various shades of glaze and fired at a temperature of 1220°C. At these temperatures, the clay turns into solid stoneware. The clay sculpture Freedom is part of a trilogy of ceramic sculptures called From Identity to Freedom. It represents the reverse process of the one in which our personality, which represents us in the world, is formed and shaped.

The ceramic sculpture Freedom depicts the result of a process in which, throughout our lives, we experience a wide variety of events that raise questions about life and death. If we decide to throw away our masks and unravel all the patterns with which we identify ourselves as personalities, freedom emerges. We no longer exist as individuals, and identity remains only as a necessity for functioning in space and time. And freedom shines from the inside out.
