Jupiter’s Labyrinth on a Figurine is part of a series of labyrinths carved into ceramic figurines. The ceramic works by Pottery Art—Polona Zajc’s clay creations—also feature depictions of labyrinths of all kinds. This particular labyrinth is the Labyrinth of Wisdom, or Jupiter’s Labyrinth, in its natural, expressive form. The figurine is handcrafted from black clay, with the labyrinth symbol carved into it. It is fired at a temperature of 1210°C. The clay figurine is glazed in a matte yellow glaze, while the labyrinth is glazed with a shimmering, iridescent yellow glaze. The details are accented with real gold. The figurine is 22 cm tall. The shape of the labyrinth gives the piece special significance, both for the person who wears it and for the surroundings in which it is placed.

Polona Zajc’s pottery art clay designs include clay figurines in her collection. Each clay sculpture represents its own form of a labyrinth. These are sources of power that are very much active. Having power does not mean having access to a large amount of energy, but also having access to a great deal of intelligence. And this is how labyrinths work. We can also “walk” through these as we follow their paths, drawn or carved into the clay.

The Labyrinth of Wisdom or Jupiter's Labyrinth

The Labyrinth of Wisdom, or Jupiter’s Labyrinth, can also be called the Labyrinth of Knowledge. The central themes of this labyrinth are learning and teaching. By moving toward the center, we will reach the one who knows. The Labyrinth of Knowledge stimulates within us a desire for knowledge or a propensity to acquire it. This is positive, since one could say that the moment people stop learning, they die in a sense. Its element is space, its color is yellow or orange, its direction is northeast, and its natural form is expressive. The usefulness of the Labyrinth of Wisdom lies in the fact that it ensures we do not stray from the path of our fundamental task—acquiring knowledge. It will be particularly beneficial to people who are in the process of acquiring knowledge, but it also works in the opposite direction; it is excellent for teachers or for all those who impart knowledge.
