Cup with Jupiter's labyrinth

Ceramic cup with Jupiter's labyrinth is one of the cups in the pottery art collection of Polona Zajc. The cup is made on a pottery spindle from grey-white clay. Its interior is covered with black clay. It is fired at 1040°C. On the outside, it has the symbol of the labyrinth of wisdom or Jupiter's labyrinth carved on it. It is highlighted in black. It is glazed with a suitable glaze (LOT15) on the surfaces where it comes into contact with foodstuffs. The height of the cup is 11 cm, the diameter 10 cm. The labyrinth of wisdom gives it a special significance, as it has a strong influence on the surroundings in which it appears.

The cups are made of the finest quality clay and glazed with a glaze that is certified for quality and suitability for household use. The Labyrinth of Wisdom or the Labyrinth of Jupiter can also be called the Labyrinth of Knowledge. The main themes of this labyrinth are learning and teaching. It is a very important theme in life. One could say that the moment people stop learning, they die in a way. Consequently, negative traits such as possessiveness, prejudice, bad judgement and impatience start to manifest themselves in life. And it is the receptive form that is engraved on the present cup that will have such an effect when used. Part of non-wisdom is the conviction that only one's own truth exists. The elevation of self above others is the product of ignorance. So the Labyrinth of Wisdom in its receptive form equates these very qualities. The presence of this labyrinth in the environment stimulates innate human curiosity, and redirects people's thoughts and actions towards the accomplishment of tasks that are beneficial to all.
