Mercury's Labyrinth on the Statue

The Mercury Labyrinth on the figurine is part of a series of labyrinths carved into ceramic figurines. The ceramic works by Polona Zajc’s “Pottery Art: Clay Design” collection also feature depictions of labyrinths of all kinds. This particular labyrinth is the Labyrinth of Connection, or Mercury’s Labyrinth, in its natural, expressive form. The figurine is handcrafted from black clay, with the labyrinth symbol carved into it. It is fired at a temperature of 1210°C. The clay figurine is glazed in a matte green glaze, while the labyrinth is glazed with a shimmering, iridescent green glaze. The details are accented with real gold. The figurine is 22 cm tall. The shape of the labyrinth gives the piece special significance, both for the person wearing it and for the surroundings in which it is placed.

The labyrinth of connection has the property of connecting things and people that at first glance appear to be separate. Passing through it encourages all kinds of communication. Labyrinths are sources of power that have a profound effect on those who walk through them, even if only in their minds, with their eyes, as in the case of labyrinths carved in ceramics. But they also have an impact on the surroundings in which they are located. The Mercury Labyrinth, as it can also be called, especially the present expressive form, has an influence on improving human relations, friendship and cordiality. Its use will improve clarity of mind, logic, speed of thinking and understanding. On a physical level, the Labyrinth of Connection represents growth and development. Therefore, the Labyrinth is suitable for young people who are maturing. Children and young people grow and play and in this game they test the success of particular strategies to get through life most easily.
