Mercury Labyrinth on a pendant

Mercury Labyrinth on a Pendant is a product of pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc. It is one of the pendants as a ceramic jewellery depicting labyrinths. The pendant with a cord and a clasp, representing the Labyrinth of Connection, as it is called, is designed in its natural expressive form. It is an impression of a plaster model of her own making, made of red clay, glazed and fired at 1040°C. Diameter 3,5 cm, cord length 22 or 27 cm. It is the shape of the labyrinth that gives the jewellery a certain meaning for the wearer as well as for the surroundings in which it is placed.

The Pottery Art Clay Design collection by Polona Zajc includes a series of jewellery pendants depicting all the labyrinths, in a receptive and expressive form. The pendants are made in the technique of stamping clay into a plaster mould. This is an embossed model of our own handmade design, which gives shape to the clay. After drying, the pendants are ready to be fired, followed by the application of a glaze in a colour that is specific to the shape of the maze. After firing again, the product is finished. This is how the Mercury Labyrinth on the pendant is created.

The labyrinth of connection

The Labyrinth of Connection, or Mercury's Labyrinth, has the main task of connecting people and things that are seemingly separate. Passing through it or using it in any way encourages and enhances all forms of communication, from speech to writing. As a result, relations between people are improved and become more friendly and cordial. The labyrinth of connection will promote its action in successful trading, diplomacy and, in general, all forms of mediation where differences and even opposites have to be reconciled. Its use will improve clarity of mind, logic, speed of thought and understanding. On a physical level, the labyrinth signifies growth and development and is therefore particularly suitable for young people who are growing and maturing. The labyrinth creates a certain spiritual lightness, removes anxiety and helps us to see things from a more serene and simple side. Its presence will eliminate unnecessary conflicts and quarrels, while at the same time creating an optimistic atmosphere.
