Black unique forest plate
Black unique plate forest is a product of pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc. It is a handmade black plate with a painting, spun on a pottery spindle from black stoneware. The surface is sculpted with a typical pottery art pattern with trees and birds. The outside of the plate is glazed with a black glaze, the interior is richly painted in various shades. It is fired at a temperature of 1220°C, when the black clay turns to black stoneware. The diameter of the plate is 26 cm.

Pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc also has unique clay plates in her collection. They are made exclusively by hand, in different colours of clay and glazes. Some of them have a pattern of holes cut into the rim, which makes them appear fragile. However, all of them are in turn solid due to the high firing temperatures. Some have pure gold applied, which is fired at 800 °C. Even though some are classified as decorative plates, they can be used for serving food. They are made of the finest clays and glazes, fired at the appropriate temperature to ensure a high quality product. After use, the unique clay plates can simply be washed in the dishwasher. The unique plate with forest motif is one of the plates in this series.
Unique plate with forest motif
This unique plate with a forest motif is handmade on a pottery spindle. From the centre outwards, I cut lines into the almost dry clay on the surface of the plate. This creates the outlines of a forest with trees and birds. I paint it with different shades of glazes which, after firing, conjure up a fairy-tale image of a forest. The clay plate with its rich surface painting is mainly decorative, as it is a pity to hide it with its contents. However, its quality lies in the fact that it can be used for serving food, as the paint applied is of high quality, fired at a high temperature and therefore durable whatever the use. It can be washed in the dishwasher without any consequences.
