Description
Mars' Labyrinth on a Statue
Mars’ Labyrinth on a Figurine is part of a series of labyrinths carved into ceramic figurines. The ceramic works by Polona Zajc’s “Pottery Art: Clay Design” also feature depictions of labyrinths of all kinds. This particular labyrinth is the Mars Labyrinth, or the Labyrinth of Energy, in its natural, expressive form. The figurine is handcrafted from black clay, with the symbol of the Labyrinth of Energy carved into it. It is fired at a temperature of 1210°C. The clay figurine is glazed in a red semi-matte glaze, while the labyrinth is glazed with a shimmering, iridescent dark red glaze. The details are accented with real gold. The figurine is 22 cm tall. The labyrinth design gives the piece special significance, both for the person wearing it and for the environment in which it is placed.
Pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc
Polona Zajc’s pottery art clay designs include clay figurines in her collection. Each clay sculpture represents its own form of a labyrinth. These are sources of power that are very much active. Having power does not mean having access to a large amount of energy, but also having access to a great deal of intelligence. And this is how labyrinths work. Usually, they are built on the ground so that one can walk along their paths. On these pages, however, you’ll find labyrinths depicted in ceramics. We can also “walk” through these as we follow their paths, drawn or carved into the clay.
The Labyrinth of Mars or the Labyrinth of Energy
The Labyrinth of Mars or the Labyrinth of Energy is characterized by its center, which forms a sort of open heart. The path to the center is the path to the inner warrior. And indeed, this labyrinth is largely associated with the heart, courage, dedication, ideals, protection, and justice. Its element is fire, its color is red—the color of blood—its direction is south, and its natural form is expressive. The usefulness of the energy labyrinth comes into play when a person finds themselves in a situation that requires decisiveness, ambition, steadfastness, and even a certain kind of assertiveness. Passing through the Mars labyrinth will eliminate numerous negative phenomena within and around us. These include widespread aggression, rudeness, and selfishness.
