The clay baking dish for potica with handles is a pottery art product designed by Polona Zajc. It is part of a series of clay baking dishes for oven baking. The elongated clay potica dish, as it is also called, is made in the traditional way. It is turned on a potter's wheel and shaped into an elongated form. Handles are added on each side to make it easier to remove from the oven. It is made of red stoneware, and the interior is coated with white clay. It is fired at 1220°C. The surfaces that come into contact with food are glazed with a glaze that is certified for household use (traceability mark LOT17). The baking dish is 30 cm long, 23 cm without handles, 12 cm wide, and 9 cm high.

Pottery art clay design by Polona Zajc has a traditional clay pottery in its collection of ceramic products. There are four sizes or four diameters of clay pottery pans in the series. The large ceramic cake pan has a diameter of 34 cm, the smaller ceramic cake pan has a diameter of 24-26 cm, the medium ceramic cake pan has a diameter of 28-30 cm and the small ceramic cake pan has a diameter of 16 cm. Elongated cake pans also fall into this category. All the cake pans are handmade on a potter's spindle and are traditional in shape, with hand-painting around the edges.

 Clay baker with handles

The clay baker with handles is different in the potsticker series. It is designed for baking a traditional Slovenian cake called potica with an elongated shape, which in some places is called sharkelj. It is made of the highest quality clay, which withstands temperature fluctuations well when baked in the oven. The sides of the baking tray are thin so that the cake bakes nicely all over. A flexible glaze makes the inner surface smooth so that the cake rolls out of the pan. The high firing temperature ensures that the baking tray does not absorb grease. For ease of use, the baking tray has a handle on each side. This way, the handmade ceramic cake pan remains of good quality for long-lasting use. The traditional rustic look with a distinctive pattern around the edge, the high quality of workmanship and the material make the clay pot pie pan unique in every respect.
